A Canteen for Our Lady of Fatima School

A Canteen for Our Lady of Fatima School

Catholic World Mission is undertaking this project with our friends at HaitiReach. With the partnership of the St. Brendan Parish in Cumming, GA., HaitiReach has already supported Our Lady of Fatima with clean water, teacher’s salaries, the construction of the school and a social hall, and funding for summer camps and an agricultural enrichment program.

All Are Welcome At the Banquet of the Lord. Ensure children in Haiti Have a seat at the table.
Every school day in Bassin-Zim, Haiti, three mothers brave the midday heat to tend to steaming pots of rice and beans. Their makeshift kitchen is protected from the elements only by torn canvas. They are responsible for feeding more than 250 students at Our Lady of Fatima School.

Will you please help build a proper canteen for Our Lady of Fatima School?
For most of the children — and even their teachers — lunch may be the only meal they eat all day.

One by one, they line up to receive a ladle of food. Amidst the chaos of a meal, held on the dusty ground, the teachers work tirelessly to keep the food safe and clean. Prayers for the nourishing food, that has been so lovingly prepared, are rushed and scattered.

Through your generosity you can give these bright young students and devoted teachers a clean, safe place to share a meal and a moment of spiritual communion.

Some kids walk 3+ miles to get to school.

One Daily Meal is prepared and served by volunteer mothers on the school grounds.

Our Catholic World Mission Impact in North America

Our Catholic World Mission Impact in North America

Just like how St. Francis of Assisi was instructed by God to “repair his Church,” our Catholic parishioners work hard to restore the global Christian community’s faith in His Church and Word. Some countries in North America are hit hard by social adversities. Many struggle to leave their lives of poverty, drugs and crime behind, slowly losing hope and losing touch with Christ.
In line with the reading of 2 Corinthians 5:20, we want to be the ambassadors of change by introducing or rekindling their relationship with Christ. How do we achieve this? By showing them firsthand that God works in ways for them to prosper, as He confirmed in Jeremiah 29:11.
What Does Catholic World Mission
Stand For?

We are committed to three pillars that constitute our mission at Catholic World Mission.

We help those in need lead dignified lives through evangelization and education, bridging the gaps of poverty, spirituality and the future. We are aware of the need for spiritual upliftment as much as there is a need for material upliftment, and we strive to provide both.

We aim to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people regardless of their faith, inspiring them to believe in their God-given potential. Through our missionary work and donations, we help build churches and promote seminarian formation to align with St. Paul’s work as the Evangelization patron.

Who Needs
Our Help?

Many areas in North America have experienced devastating natural disasters that have uprooted many lives.

For example, Haiti is still recovering from the 2010 earthquake that claimed over 200,000 lives. With over 4,000 schools damaged or destroyed, we have dedicated our services to Haiti as part of our education pillar.

Bridging the gap to the future involves building schools and providing scholarships and supplies. It also means sharing the Gospel and working to unite all of us in the body of Christ. In Proverbs 22:6, God says we must help train children in the right way so they’re set on the right path when they’re older. If they are educated and know Christ at a young age, they will follow His Word and example throughout their lives.
