Save Lives, Ship Meds,
& Convert Containers into Portable Clinics
Access to adequate healthcare has been challenging during the pandemic. For many people around the world, the closest hospitals and medical supplies are not very close at all. Some have to travel far to seek medical attention. Thankfully, the Enchi Government Hospital in Ghana is a saving grace for many and can continue to help many more patients thanks to YOU!
The Enchi Government Hospital can treat and save more lives thanks to your bountiful generosity!
The Enchi Government Hospital keeps busy as it serves residents of both Ghana and Ivory Coast – along with patients from distances up to 500 miles, such as Burkina Faso and Mali. It is home to one of only two physicians within a four-hour driving radius, and space in the ward is limited as only surgical and severely ill patients are admitted.
Since 2009, Catholic World Mission has helped ship medical relief to the Enchi Government Hospital. We have increased the number of patients that can be admitted by sending 25 new beds and cribs which adds to their 80 adult beds and 13 pediatric beds. We have also provided other essential medical equipment such as operating tables and anesthesia machines.
Every day the hospital admits patients that are fighting pneumonia, malaria, anemia, and typhoid. Surgical cases can range from hernias, abscesses, and injuries to tumors and serious typhoid infections. Without antibiotics and health care, a simple infection can turn deadly in a short time.
As the pandemic continues to rage through the world, we have an extraordinary opportunity to save lives in Ghana…
Infants can get the life-saving medicine they deserve thanks to your selfless giving.
Essential medical items including ibuprofen, children’s medicine, and lab supplies are ready to be shipped.
We have been blessed with 2.5 containers full of donated medical supplies. The shipments include basics and necessities such as ibuprofen, children’s medicine, amoxicillin, vitamins, blood glucose meters, lab supplies, and more.
These containers amount to nearly 9.4 million dollars’ worth of medical supplies that have been given to us for FREE. We only have to pay to ship these containers, and then they will be on their way to the Enchi Government Hospital. Imagine the lives you will be able to save from treatable illnesses and conditions thanks to your compassion!
Every $1 you donate allows us to send $590.35 worth of essential supplies!
To send these supplies to Ghana, we need to raise the money for the shipping cost by March 31st. Once the shipment arrives, the supplies will be rushed to our trusted in-country ministry partners and the containers are converted into a mini-clinic for immediate use.
Coming together to send medical supplies to Ghana will bring healing and hope to many patients near and far. It can be the prayer they have pleaded for every single day as they and their loved ones fight for their lives. Access to medicines and treatments that we take for granted can be distributed to those who have been waiting and need it most right now.
From containers to mini-clinics
The Yonkofa Project pre-fabricates the containers filled with medical supplies before they are packed for shipping. This process ensures that once the container is unloaded in the designated area it is ready to be used as a mini-clinic. Once the containers arrive in Ghana, the medical supplies will be unpacked and distributed by our trusted in-country ministry partners. It is then furnished with electricity and water and converted into a mini-clinic ready to treat patients.
